The school of catechism was opened in Saraktash on the 1st of November, 1990. Lessons are given in the Orthodox Gymnasium of Saint Sergiy of Radonezh building.

Children study Church law, the lives of saints, fundamentals of the Church services (i.e. Divine Liturgy, Vespers), and view Orthodox Christian films.

Often children go on excursions to churches both in Orenburg and in the surrounding region, travel to sacred springs, hike, take part in festive Christmas and Paschal concerts, and participate in celebrations commemorating the beginning and end of each school year.
